When my mom ran for the Senate my dad was there for her every step of the way. I can still hear her saying in her beautiful voice 'Why should women have any less say than men about the great decisions facing our nation?'

I'm not sure what the future holds but I do know that I'm going to be positive and not wake up feeling desperate. As my dad said 'Nic it is what it is it's not what it should have been not what it could have been it is what it is.'

I never had a speech from my father 'this is what you must do or shouldn't do' but I just learned to be led by example. My father wasn't perfect.

Whoever does not have a good father should procure one.

Presumption should never make us neglect that which appears easy to us nor despair make us lose courage at the sight of difficulties.

The criteria for serving one's country should be competence courage and willingness to serve. When we deny people the chance to serve because of their sexual orientation we deprive them of their rights of citizenship and we deprive our armed forces the service of willing and capable Americans.

Had we lived I should have had a tale to tell of the hardihood endurance and courage of my companions which would have stirred the heart of every Englishman. These rough notes and our dead bodies must tell the tale.

When we have done our best we can as a united people take whatever may befall with calm courage and confidence that this old nation will survive and if death should come to many of us death is not the end.

Fashion should not be expected to serve in the stead of courage or character.

If we bring not the good courage of minds covetous of truth and truth only prepared to hear all things and decide upon all things according to evidence we should do more wisely to sit down contented in ignorance than to bestir ourselves only to reap disappointment.

Why should we honour those that die upon the field of battle? A man may show as reckless a courage in entering into the abyss of himself.

It is curious that physical courage should be so common in the world and moral courage so rare.

White people couldn't do black music back in the day because they weren't funky or bad enough. They weren't from the ghettoes but hip-hop and R&B changed all of that because white kids want to be down with it. They wanted to learn it so they studied the culture. It's kind of a cool thing because we shouldn't be so separate.

We should be recklessly abandoned to Jesus and just turn it over to Him. Through the support I think the sacrifices will be made and we'll all be cool with it.

I even knew some of the dialogue but it was definitely cool to look at. We always argue that the movies should be loyal but in this case I could argue that it might have been too loyal.

President Clinton is going to embrace President Obama as he should. They are working together. They're different kinds of people. Obama is cool Clinton is a schmoozer. Both are great speakers. It's a great merging of the party.

Violence is a very ugly thing. Violence is often so casual on film and made to look so cool and so sexy but violence is a repulsive repugnant act that human beings inflict on each other. It shouldn't seem to be cool and sexy ever really.
