I am both honored and blessed to have had such a wonderful career with the L.A. Galaxy and I am thankful for everything the club the fans and the community has done for me and my family.

I want to let my fans get to know a little about me. I'm very thankful for everything they've done for me so of course I'm going to let them into my world a bit. But I really am a very private person and I love kepping my life to myself - that's how I've always been.

I wanted to be a pilot. I loved flying and I loved all the technology and the equipment and the sense of adventure that came with it. I think that feeling still bleeds over into everything I do today.

We are so reliant on power and technology for everything.

Everything's changed. The technology is the big thing changing now the way movies like 'Alice' or 'Avatar' are made. And technology on the other side the audience side. Word spreads so fast now on a movie with the Internet and piracy is something coming down the line like in the music industry.

We're competing with everything: the beach the mall bookstores. Libraries are in a transition right now caught between two forces the old ways and technology. Libraries are under a lot of pressure to provide both.

I carry my own film guys with me now. People think that's a huge expense but with technology like it is these days it's not. You can film videos and everything with a Canon Mark II and shoot a movie. They're doing it for next to nothing by comparison. I can do ten videos for a project for the price of one mainstream video in the past.

You can get digital technology that almost is film quality and go make little films and do everything you can to find a little understanding of your own voice and it will grow - Don't take no for an answer - Take every opportunity you can to do something.

With the way everything's going now and the way that technology is going you can do a lot of things with a lot of different new materials.

But by the time I was 40 everything was winding down. It started after the war. On the plus side there was more more products and technology. But for me the nightlife was winding down the glamour the fun.

I know there are lots of positives in the evolution of technology but I also think it will be responsible for the end of a unique character of a specific kind of geographical culture. The world is getting so small and mass production is getting so big. Everything is in danger of becoming the same.

Technology has changed the way book publishing works as it has changed everything else in the world of media.

In the face of technology everything becomes a little atavistic.

Sometimes I'm dazzled by how modern and fabulous we are and how easy everything can be for us that's the gilded glow of technology and I marvel at it all the time.

Why are we as a nation so obsessed with foreign things? Is it a legacy of our colonial years? We want foreign television sets. We want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology. Why this obsession with everything imported?

I've always wanted to own and control the primary technology in everything we do.
