Everyone young and old must have access to the knowledge and skills to participate in the evolving economy.

When President Obama entered the White House the economy was in a free-fall. The auto industry: on its back. The banks: frozen up. More than three million Americans had already lost their jobs. But you know but when it comes to the economy we've got a lot more work to do. And we're gonna keep on at it.

I want to reform the tax code so that it's simple fair and asks the wealthiest households to pay higher taxes on incomes over $250 000 - the same rate we had when Bill Clinton was president the same rate we had when our economy created nearly 23 million new jobs the biggest surplus in history and a lot of millionaires to boot.

The H-1B visa program which helps sustain our rapidly growing economy and also helps meet the health care needs of families living in rural New Mexico.

People were concerned about national security and that precluded us from having the opportunity to break through on the issues that we cared most about - the economy education and health care.
