I'm always working on stuff. But they never materialize. I'm always working on movies and TV shows.

So I do have to work you know and I find as many movies and TV shows that I can because otherwise I wouldn't have an income.

Why be boring? Have some fun. Rock shows should be like movies: I don't go to a movie hoping it'll change my life.

In the Rodgers and Hammerstein generation popular hits came out of shows and movies.

The Bible says not to worry so I don't. I just get up in the morning and ask God for help to get through the day. If tomorrow shows up then I'll take the same shot tomorrow.

I'd always been a news junkie always read lots of newspapers and watched the Sunday morning news shows on TV and felt strongly about issues of power control sexuality and race.

Remember my first tenet in getting dressed is how you feel in the morning. So if you're not being true blue to that it usually shows.

What is news? It's hard to quantify. Certainly news has changed completely and the morning shows are not really designed to bring you the news except to tell you what happened overnight and the rest of it is a kind of magazine mentality - a little bit of this a little bit of that. It's harder to be an educated and informed citizen.

The nice thing about the gallery shows is that without having to pay any money you can just go and see it.

I love what I do and I think it shows. As my kids get older they can see me as a mom who loves working.

It would be great to do another television show that was a multi-camera because the hours are so wonderful and you can be a good mom at the same time. The problem is there aren't a lot of multi-camera shows that I personally like. My aesthetic is more geared toward single-camera shows.

When I was growing up in New Jersey my mom would regularly take my sister and I into the city to see shows. I have many fond memories of standing in the half-price ticket line in Times Square and going to matinees.

Great occasions do not make heroes or cowards they simply unveil them to the eyes of men. Silently and imperceptibly as we wake or sleep we grow strong or weak and at last some crisis shows what we have become.

I think the part of media that romanticizes criminal behavior things that a person will say against women profanity being gangster having multiple children with multiple men and women and not wanting to is prevalent. When you look at the majority of shows on television they placate that kind of behavior.

I guess because the shows were activist in their own way - the marriage of my public activism and my career activism you know - people understand me very well. They also understand there's a very strong bipartisan part in all of this.

Well marriage doesn't function in the way it used to in terms of deciding our fate but it's in our heads and it determines a lot of our actions. Like right now if you think about gay marriage - and they just started having the first gay marriages in New York - it shows what a potent idea marriage remains for people.

I will love the light for it shows me the way yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars.
