Over the last half century the television interview has given us some of TV's most heart-stopping and memorable moments. On the surface it is a simple format - two people sitting across from one another having a conversation. But underneath it is often a power struggle - a battle for the psychological advantage.

Technology gives us power but it does not and cannot tell us how to use that power. Thanks to technology we can instantly communicate across the world but it still doesn't help us know what to say.

We believe in a flexible union of free member states who share treaties and institutions and pursue together the ideal of co-operation to represent and promote the values of European civilisation in the world advance our shared interests by using our collective power to open markets and to build a strong economic base across the whole of Europe.

We sincerely ask the Beijing authorities across the Strait to view the election result from a positive perspective to accept the democratic decision of the Taiwanese people.

I'm out there arguing the Labor case. I will do it anywhere and everywhere that I can. I do it within various communities across Australia where I am able to make a positive contribution. And let me tell you my voice won't be silenced in the public debate because the issue at stake for Australia are so stark.

I want to come across as a positive person.

There's one of my new poems actually - is a good example of where my poetry has ended up. My earlier river poetry was more like a cross between Shelley and Dylan Thomas.

The whole thing about making films in an organic film on location is that it's not all about characters relationships and themes it's also about place and the poetry of place. It's about the spirit of what you find the accidents of what you stumble across.

I heard Nirvana and discovered that songs could be like poetry but a little bit more refined: you didn't have to have 20 verses to get your point across.

Secondly I would like to make continuous efforts of stabilising cross Strait relations eventually reaching peace across the Taiwan strait and stability and security in the Asia Pacific region.

Now people all across America are starting to believe in America again. We are coming back back to the heights of greatness back to America's proud role as a temple of justice and a champion of peace.

Across the country military families are facing dire financial circumstances due to longer than expected tours of duties. They are being penalized for their patriotism - no one should have to choose between doing right by their country and doing right by their families.

A civilized nation can have no enemies and one cannot draw a line across a map a line that doesn't even exist in nature and say that the ugly enemy lives on the one side and good friends live on the other.

Occasionally I have come across a last patch of snow on top of a mountain in late May or June. There's something very powerful about finding snow in summer.

Rest is not idleness and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day listening to the murmur of the water or watching the clouds float across the sky is by no means a waste of time.

I'm writing constantly about all my crazy experiences across the world so I have a lot of music I've already written.

I believe music should reflect yourself in some way and not just yourself at the given time. I feel that when you die or when you're going someone's supposed to listen to that music and know everything about you. And I just try to get that across.
