I've never had Internet access. Actually I have looked at things on other people's computers as a bystander. A few times in my life I've opened email accounts twice actually but it's something I don't want in my life right now.

I know so many people who actually just watch television on their computers now and don't even really watch their TV anymore.

What I was proud of was that I used very few parts to build a computer that could actually speak words on a screen and type words on a keyboard and run a programming language that could play games. And I did all this myself.

In this great age of communication there a lot of people you can't actually understand. I know everyone tweets and twits and texts and all that but actually we've all got voices and it is awfully nice to hear them and if you can understand what people are saying.

Without television and mass communication that knowledge wouldn't exist. So I think it actually has the possibility of turning people into more understanding and more empathetic people.

Well... I had braces and I had to wear headgear! I loved my braces actually. For me they were like a piece of jewelry! Instead of the silver or pewter I had gold braces. It was so much fun I loved them. I got to change the colors and stuff and I had the rubber bands.

On the political front of course it's a zero-sum game. If it's all white males holding positions you bring 10 women in then it's 'Women are coming!' Get 10 blacks and it's 'Blacks are coming!' 'Hispanics are coming!' Zero-sum game. The seatmates might change but the chairs don't move. In the economy the number of chairs can actually increase.

If you actually want to change your world there is a better way of doing it than blowing yourself up.

I know how bad Albany is. I know it better than most. I understand why people are angry. I'm angry. The question is going to be how do you change Albany what is the plan for change and then how do you actually get it done?

It's been really fun to see with each album when I change to see the fans of the show emulate my style and with the first record a lot of the kids in the crowd were wearing neck ties like I was and now you'll see a lot of girls with pink hair. It's cool it's actually really neat.

I think it true that you know sometimes things start to change even before a government changes and actually I think you can begin to see even the Labour machine beginning to understand that it has become over-reliant on targets and processes that local governments have been over-bossed and bullied.

My goal was never to just create a company. A lot of people misinterpret that as if I don't care about revenue or profit or any of those things. But what not being just a company means to me is not being just that - building something that actually makes a really big change in the world.

Movies always are open to being remade because times change so much and the tempo of movies changes. I think of it like a James Bond. They can have different actors play the same role... I've had people come up to me and say 'We want to remake 'The Jerk' with so and so.' And I say 'Fine.' It just doesn't bother me. It's an honor actually.

We used to think that revolutions are the cause of change. Actually it is the other way around: change prepares the ground for revolution.
