My dad raised me with some good advice: 'Always tell the truth. Always shoot from the hip. You might not have many friends but you'll never have enemies because people will always know where you're coming from.'

As a little girl I used to daydream about my real father coming on a white horse to rescue me.

Remember in 1973 the same science chatter said that the coming Ice Age is going to occur we're going to lose millions of people. And the politicians knew how to solve it they just didn't have the courage to solve it they were going to put coal dust on the Arctic.

When you really believe in God it gives you a courage a confidence that enables you to meet the things coming.

Overcoming the Cold War required courage from the people of Central and Eastern Europe and what was then the German Democratic Republic but it also required the steadfastness of Western partner over many decades when many had long lost hope of integration of the two Germanys and Europe.

I was 35 years old and in a position to take a shot at whatever I wanted to try. The Air Force said I was too old to fly fighter jets. I thought about becoming a fishing boat captain before deciding that acting seemed pretty cool.

I'm more into the Spawn toys. They're really cool. They're coming out with a Techno Spawn series and another series The Dark Ages which are really cool.

But on another level it's really sort of this really cool coming of age story it reminds me of like The Breakfast Club or something like that if I can be so bold to associate with The Breakfast Club.

It's really cool to see glowsticks at the show to see dance music culture infiltrating and becoming one with the metal community.

Playing well with others is important - not being too flashy just keeping good time and of course coming up with cool beats. A good snare drum kick drum high hat. Just getting good at the hand feet coordination.

Theaters are always going to be around and doing fine. With computers and technology we're becoming more and more secluded from each other. And the movie theater is one of the last places where we can still gather and experience something together. I don't think the desire for that magic will ever go away.

It seems like everything that we see perceived in the brain before we actually use our own eyes that everything we see is coming through computers or machines and then is being input in our brain cells. So that really worries me.

On the other hand in a society whose communication component is becoming more prominent day by day both as a reality and as an issue it is clear that language assumes a new importance.

What does music mean to me? I don't think I would really be much without it without it coming through me. It's my means of communication my means of growth my means of transportation from one point in my life to another.

The new artists coming through were very materialistic and Hollywood not so engaged in communication.

Making movies is not rocket science. It's about relationships and communication and strangers coming together to see if they can get along harmoniously productively and creatively. That's a challenge. When it works it's fantastic and will lift you up. When it doesn't work it's almost just as fascinating.

On the political front of course it's a zero-sum game. If it's all white males holding positions you bring 10 women in then it's 'Women are coming!' Get 10 blacks and it's 'Blacks are coming!' 'Hispanics are coming!' Zero-sum game. The seatmates might change but the chairs don't move. In the economy the number of chairs can actually increase.
