Now is the time for the U.S. and the nations of Western Europe who engaged in the slave trade throughout this hemisphere to come forward in a positive way to assist in undoing the harm that was caused by their past colonial policies in the hemisphere.

If the amount of money going into the war economy were invested in landscape restoration we would be in a far more positive position. It may get a little dire before we pull together but I think when the prosperous nations and in particular the U.S. realize they're wrecking their own kids' lives there will be a mass change in value.

The positive news is that the British economy is continuing to grow and is creating jobs. And it is positive news too that at a time of real international instability we are a safe haven in the storm.
