America's doctors nurses and medical researchers are the best in the world but our health care system is broken.

Nurses are an integral component of the health care system and it is important that we recognize the over 2.7 million registered nurses for the significant work that they do.

I think the British people are very very attached to the idea that the health service is free at the point of use. But there is no reason why every doctor nurse and teacher in this country has to be employed by the state.

America has the best doctors the best nurses the best hospitals the best medical technology the best medical breakthrough medicines in the world. There is absolutely no reason we should not have in this country the best health care in the world.

For the last 3 years we have celebrated National Nurses Week. Beginning on May 6 we will once again have the opportunity to truly commend the nursing community for their contributions to our national health delivery system.
