When I started this project I was a young architect. I was very apprehensive about any changes to the design. Whether I wanted to or not I learned that you can accept some changes to its form without compromising its intent. But it's a leap of faith that I didn't want to make initially - to put it mildly.

So if I want to buy a light in a shop and I don't find a light that I like I think to myself what would I like? What would I like to buy? Then I started to imagine and design it for myself a lot of the time.

Well I never studied design and I went to art school to study art you know sculpture and things like that and ended up making things like sculpture and started making chairs and jewelry together and that's how I started.

I actually started as a model builder and quickly progressed into production design which made sense because I could draw and paint. But I kept watching that guy over there who was moving the actors around and setting up the shots.

In just six weeks from the time the design was started we had the motor on the block testing its power.

No wonder the film industry started in the desert in California where like all desert dwellers they dream their buildings rather than design them.

Well I design costumes because I started with the theater in Chicago but somehow a few lines just sort of fell to me to do it. And I studied it in school and I always liked it.

I just finished my homework fast I was bored to death. There wasn't 500 channels so there was a thing for a librarian to teach a kid like me about reading. I started reading early and I read all the time because I love it.

I was fantasising about my own death I started thinking what my funeral would be like and what music would be played I was at that level of insanity.

I was very sad to hear of the death of Ronnie Barker who was such a warm friendly and encouraging presence to have when I started in television. He was also a great comic actor to learn from.

I never really got on that well with Yoko anyway. Strangely enough I only started to get to know her after John's death.

My original inspiration was my mom: a few years after the death of my dad she started dating one my teachers!

My wife and I have been together since 1986. I graduated in '86 and she graduated in '88. We began dating when she was 17. Actually she turned 18 when we started kissing and stuff.

The woman I am currently crazy about was a vegetarian for a year until I started dating her. As is the case with most vegetarians she had never eaten properly prepared meat only commercially packaged or otherwise abused flesh.

When I started dating I had this kind of Romeo and Juliet fateful romantic idea about love which was almost that you were a victim and there was a lot of pain involved and that was how it should be.

When I was first divorced I started dating younger women and it was really exciting. But after a while I was like 'This is just dumb.'

I started dating older men and I would fall in love with them. I thought they could teach me about life.
