I believe that reforming our intelligence community is one of the most important things that we can do in order to ensure that our country is in fact safer stronger and wiser.

My understanding is that what was provided was general order of battle information not operational intelligence. I certainly have no knowledge of US participation in preparing battle and strike packages and doubt strongly that that occurred.

Dr. Rice's record on Iraq gives me great concern. In her public statements she clearly overstated and exaggerated the intelligence concerning Iraq before the war in order to support the President's decision to initiate military action against Iraq.

I also believe that it is time to begin the fundamental analysis of how we got here what led us here and what we need to do in order to ensure that we are equipped with the best possible intelligence as we face these issues in the future.

These are Canadian and United States intelligence and law enforcement offices who are working in teams and who are using good intelligence and good law enforcement to really stop the criminals and terrorists before they ever get to the border.

In order to be successful against each of these threats we have to have a presence overseas work closely not only with our counterparts in the law enforcement community but also with the intelligence community.
