As the third anniversary of the September 11th attacks draws near we must ensure our nation is prepared to handle the continued threat of violence and terrorism on our country.

Shock confusion fear anger grief and defiance. On Sept. 11 2001 and for the three days following the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil President George W. Bush led with raw emotion that reflected the public's whipsawing stages of acceptance.

Iran has long sponsored terrorists who carry out homicide bombings in Israeli cities. However it is a mistake to believe the danger Iran poses is directed at Israel alone.

As strong as the United States is we can't deal with terrorism alone.

The prospect of success in achieving our most cherished dream is not without its terrors. Who is more deprived and alone than the man who has achieved his dream?

Who knows what true loneliness is - not the conventional word but the naked terror? To the lonely themselves it wears a mask. The most miserable outcast hugs some memory or some illusion.

The terror of the atom age is not the violence of the new power but the speed of man's adjustment to it the speed of his acceptance.

True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country.
