Overcoming the Cold War required courage from the people of Central and Eastern Europe and what was then the German Democratic Republic but it also required the steadfastness of Western partner over many decades when many had long lost hope of integration of the two Germanys and Europe.

I'm not cool with ACORN or the working families' party or people that vote like democrats and run on Republican lines.

We talked about many issues like welfare is it the way of life or hand up? Talked about size of government how much should it tax families and small businesses? And when we left that lunch we got in the car and I looked over at Chuck and said 'I'll be damned. we're Republicans.'

I used to work for a management consulting company so I dressed differently - business casual probably a lot of things from Banana Republic. My wardrobe now is definitely more expensive but I always dress for the occasion.

I was criticized at some level within the Republican Party by those who say government should not be in the economic development business at all. My response is that the only country I know that doesn't have an economic development plan is Papa New Guinea.
