I happen to dig being able to use whatever mystique I have to further the idea of peace.

My biggest weakness is patience wanting to see things happen too quickly or get changes in place right away. Not having the patience to let things develop.

The fans know what's happened to me over the past couple of years. I lost my family. I pretty much got devastated financially and the fans know that I've had some hard times - and that's the nature of loyal fans. They want to see the people that they love and believe in get back on their feet.

It often happens that when a person possesses a particular ability to an extraordinary degree nature makes up for it by leaving him or her incompetent in every other department.

Every corny thing that's said about living with nature - being in harmony with the earth feeling the cycle of the seasons - happens to be true.

Time is nature's way of keeping everything from happening at once.

Nothing happens to any man that he is not formed by nature to bear.

The sun the moon and the stars would have disappeared long ago... had they happened to be within the reach of predatory human hands.

I want to promote poetry to the point where you got all the baldhead kids running around doing poetry getting the music out of the way and having only words the spoken word and then see what happens.

Maybe someday you can accuse somebody of being a poseur by selling out and playing blues music but that's just not going to happen in my lifetime.

So there's no guarantee if you like the music you will empathize with the culture and the people who made it. It doesn't necessarily happen. I think it can but it doesn't necessarily happen. Which is kind of a shame.

It was all about music about getting your friends to come and see you play. I don't see that same intimacy happening very much today.

I've seen country music go uptown like we say and I'm proud I was there when it happened.

City people live the city. We live in L.A. New York we live in places where it's chaotic and you never know what's gonna happen. And that's the music - you never know what's gonna happen.

I would love to continue in music with writing... but I am not the kind of person who will hang around if I start to become irrelevant. If that happens I will bow down gracefully raise my kids and have a garden. And I am going to let my hair go gray when I am older. I don't need to be blonde when I'm 60!

The absolute transformation of everything that we ever thought about music will take place within 10 years and nothing is going to be able to stop it. I see absolutely no point in pretending that it's not going to happen. I'm fully confident that copyright for instance will no longer exist in 10 years.

Music itself is going to become like running water or electricity. So it's like just take advantage of these last few years because none of this is ever going to happen again. You'd better be prepared for doing a lot of touring because that's really the only unique situation that's going to be left.
