For that again is what all manner of religion essentially is: childish dependency.

High Romanticism shows you nature in all its harsh and lovely metamorphoses. Flood fire and quake fling us back to the primal struggle for survival and reveal our gross dependency on mammoth still mysterious forces.

Government cannot do it all. As we work hard to break welfare dependency and get young people ready for the labour market we need businesses to give them a chance and not just fall back on labour from abroad.

And that's really what's happening in this country is a violation of the First Commandment. We have become a country entrenched in idolatry and that idolatry is the dependency upon our government. We're supposed to depend upon God for our protection and our provision and for our daily bread not for our government.

Take your message of equality of achievement take your message of economic dependency take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else.

We must promote upward mobility starting with solutions that speak to our broken education system broken immigration policy and broken safety-net programs that foster dependency instead of helping people get back on their feet.

Dependency is death to initiative to risk-taking and opportunity. It's time to stop the spread of government dependency and fight it like the poison it is.
